TRAVELS

Life-Changing Journeys

The Autistic Adults on Tour Foundation organizes unique therapeutic and social trips that provide an excellent opportunity to support independence, social integration, and active leisure for individuals on the autism spectrum. Our efforts help participants develop the skills necessary to function in society and build independence in their daily lives.

During our trips, we focus on preventing social isolation and promoting cultural and social integration. Our mission is to educate others on building positive attitudes toward individuals who may face challenges in social adaptation. We support the growth of independence and self-reliance, helping participants discover new possibilities.

Through our international trips, we demonstrate that we are equal citizens, enjoying the same services and privileges as our neurotypical peers. To fund these unforgettable vacations, we work together throughout the year in our Reading Room and café. This collective effort allows us to embark on a well-deserved and long-awaited break once a year.

Support our mission and help create unforgettable moments for individuals with autism! Your donation or sponsorship will enable us to continue organizing these special trips that promote independence and social integration. With your help, we can make life better!

How the Autistic Adults on Tour Foundation Supports Individuals on the Autism Spectrum

Individuals on the autism spectrum aspire to be treated equally alongside their neurotypical peers. The Autistic Adults on Tour Foundation supports their independence, self-reliance, and social integration by encouraging active leisure. We work against the social isolation of groups and communities at risk of marginalization, promoting cultural and social integration and reintegration for those at risk of exclusion.

The foundation’s goal is to ensure that individuals on the autism spectrum feel like an integral part of society and can access the same services and privileges as their neurotypical peers. We establish contacts and collaborations with organizations and institutions with similar goals within the European Union and beyond.

Group trips organized by the Foundation foster social integration. Participants have the opportunity to spend time together, exchange experiences, and build relationships. This helps them better understand the diversity within the autism spectrum. Exploring new cultures and learning how to overcome challenges further enriches their perspective.

These trips enable individuals with autism to develop social skills, form new connections, and build self-confidence. Participants also have the chance to learn about the history, culture, customs, language, and cuisine of the places they visit.

For the parents and caregivers of individuals on the autism spectrum, these trips are an invaluable opportunity to rest. Daily care for someone with autism can be demanding and exhausting, so the ability to enjoy leisure time without constant worry is extremely valuable. It allows for the rejuvenation of energy, attention to personal needs, and mental health, which ultimately results in better quality care.

The trips organized by the Autistic Adults on Tour Foundation benefit both individuals on the autism spectrum and their caregivers. They support the social, emotional, and personal development of participants while providing caregivers with much-needed respite and the opportunity to rest and recharge.
